World’s Largest Pie Fight

Over 400 pie throwers and 1200 pies. This event showcasing Ducky-Bob’s/Classic Party Rentals tenting back in January was one for the record books. The event was all about Mohawk Carpet/Shaw Floor’s Anso Nylon carpet and how it survived the World’s Largest Pie Fight.

Throwers decked out in white rain ponchos pummelled each other with apple, cherry, and chocolate filled tins. Then the pie pitchers tromped around grinding the mess into the carpet. But all was not lost. After a cleaning crew did their thing, you couldn’t even tell anyone had been there.

In honor of their world record, Shaw is donating funds to Feeding America to provide over 40,000 meals for the hungry.

Recycling Hangers

Ducky-Bob’s re-designed linen size tags remind customers to return their hangers for reuse. Our two-year-old program has generated about 13,000 reused hangers. That’s about five miles of wire that will get used at least twice!

Whether setting one pretty table…or a hundred tables, we appreciate our customers’ participation in our project to recycle and reuse hangers.

As Dallas/Fort Worth’s leading special event rental linen company, we look forward to making even more of an impact on helping our customers produce “green” events.

Ultimate Chef America

Brookdale Senior Living Centers sponsored this Ultimate Chef America event to generate excitement in culinary circles regarding food preparation, menu planning, and the dining experience at Brookdale’s Centers.

Ducky-Bob’s designer8*Landon White Leather Chairs took center stage to set the tone for a relaxed presentation by culinary experts including Food Network featured Bronwen Weber of Frosted Art Bakery and celebrities including Leeza Gibbons.

Ducky-Bob’s designer8* furniture also provided the perfect informal setting for guest speakers addressing their peers and clients.

The media tent compound was erected in a courtyard. Tent accessories included covered, level flooring, lighting, gutters, staging, pipe and drape. Rentals included tables and chairs, grills, convection ovens, serving equipment and more.

The night before the day-long event, three inches of rain fell testing the gutter system. All held up. That’s why in Texas there is no such thing as a springtime “rain plan.” It’s going to rain, and rain hard!

Winspear Opera House Gala

Event designer Steve Kemble works in concert with a star team to create a spectacular opera house opening

“Fresh off September’s gala opening of Jerry Jones Stadium — new home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys — hometown event expert and nationally recognized “lifestyle guru” Steve Kemble turned his attention to yet another Dallas landmark. This time, it was the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House at the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts. The event, a November gala for 450, turned out to be “one of most challenging events I’ve ever worked on,” Kemble says, ‘but also one of the most rewarding.’

“…First, there was the installation window, which was “sandwiched between productions,” as Kemble notes. Union workers gained access to the area after Thursday night’s performance, and began clearing set pieces from the center of the stage. Beginning at 6 a.m. on the Friday before the Saturday evening gala, Kemble and his team — top Dallas vendors including Ducky-Bob’s/Classic Party Rentals, LiveWire Special Events and Gemini Light • Sound • Video — descended on the space.

“On event night, two stars took the Winspear Opera House stage: acclaimed soprano Deborah Voigt, who gave a masterful pre-dinner performance, and Kemble’s dazzling event design.

“After Voigt’s performance, ‘We raised the curtain,”’Kemble says, ‘and everybody got chills. They had tears in their eyes.’ Fun Factory’s ’bold, heavy’ glass tables — now set with gold flatware, gold stemware and gold-rimmed chargers — took center stage, accompanied by gold-cushion Chameleon chairs. Delighted guests sat down to a meal of roasted veal loin with mushroom ragout and mascarpone polenta from Wolfgang Puck Catering.

“Kemble notes that his own gratification was not just professional, but personal. ‘The city of Dallas means so much to me,’ he says. ‘To be selected to work on this event was one of my greatest honors — but also one of my greatest challenges, not just in terms of logistics but also because I knew all eyes would be on me.’ He credits his vendors’ talents, and teamwork, for the event’s success: ‘Without everyone working together, it never would have happened.’”

AT&T Performing Arts Center Opening

A landmark event in Dallas history, the opening of the AT&T Performing Arts Center, and Classic’s Ducky-Bob’s is there.

Ducky-Bob’s provided the main cocktail and dinner buffet tent, a 40′ x 280′ clear frame tent with sidewalls. Over fifty 500 pound weights were needed for anchoring (no drilling into the new plaza). Originally this was only a “back-up/rain plan,” but days and days of rain had just ended and although the skies cleared, the temperatures dropped and at the last minute, the decision was made to go with tenting.

After a quick site inspection, logistics planning began. The permit was expedited. Tent parts and weights were delivered beginning at midnight requiring a 39-hour turnaround time. Tent installation began Friday at midnight for the Saturday night event. Crews worked right up to event time, and stayed on hand for any potential maintenance needs. After a fast move out of all other items at the end of the evening, take down began and the site was cleared by 9 a.m. Sunday morning in time for street activities and a public concert.

In addition to the tent, rental items included clear acrylic adjustable barstools, glassware, off-premise catering kitchen equipment and more.

Sparkling, Romantic Tablescapes!

Seeing is believing and if anyone still thinks party rentals are white chairs and folding tables…well, just take a look at what really gets delivered by the Ducky-Bob’s truck!

Ducky-Bob’s/A Classic Party Rentals Company has had several opportunities lately to showcase our style and wares in the form of tablescaping. Sometimes to raise funds, and sometimes for marketing and promotion. Whatever the reason, it’s fun to design and show off a bit.

Purple Sparkle

Romance Unveiled

Black & Beige/Pattern & Texture

Everyone knows this event as “Tablescapes!” It’s a great opportunity to showcase Ducky-Bob’s style and what’s new. Patterns and textures in neutral black and beige set the foundation for this fine dining table. The explosion of floral color was provided by Junior Villanueva of The Garden Gate. West Texas Ranch Wedding

Ducky Bob’s/A Classic Party Rentals Company travelled 400 miles to a West Texas ranch to provide this 82′ x 182′ structure tent and party rentals for an “at home” wedding reception.

Leveled flooring, glass walls and a balcony made this installation unique.

Stylish linens added colorful ambience to the wedding tent.

Ducky-Bob’s worked with the wedding planner and bride to design the dramatic tented space and provided rentals to accommodate the guests. Rentals included the structure tent and accessories, tables, chairs, linens, tabletop wares, and catering equipment. As with most large installations, staff was on-site to monitor the power source and climate control and to ensure smooth operation and a comfortable evening for all.

The groom's contribution was a deck and ceremony arch that captured the vista.

Tenting involved building a level floor, installing floor covering, decks, railings, power, restrooms, lighting, liners and more. Ducky Bob’s was the event partners with Stardust Celebrations, one of Dallas’s premier wedding and event planners.

From Grass to Tented Event

“From tent top to tabletop” – 50′ x 100′ structure with floor and stairs; 2,500 sq ft of additional marquees with gutters; china, glassware, flatware, catering equipment; power; fans, tables, chairs, barstools, and of course, linens.
