Swag, zoo, color, and perfect weather
The Brookfield Zoo is located on 216 acres in a suburb of Chicago and was chosen to host a corporate celebration for 650 people because it offers a “wild” selection of choices for various functions. The zoo has many venues which offer a distinctive backdrop for special events of all types. Adding to their already “exotic” array of event location choices, they recently opened The Pavilions, which consist of four new spectacular venues.
The event was to be held outdoors, but there wasn’t enough space to accommodate such a large amount of people for a sit-down dinner. Classic suggested the use of a tent to house the remainder of the guests that would not fit in The Pavilions. While the tent provided the additional required space, there was a concern that the various areas might appear somewhat “chopped up” and would not give the feeling that everyone was together, which was a priority.

Swag makes all the difference...
We suggested creating one continuous look by using 2,200 feet of polyester sateen fabric to swag the separate spaces and thereby connect the various areas. Tangerine and chocolate colors were used for the swagging, in keeping with the color scheme. The bold colors of the swagging provided a very dramatic effect and also served as an effective way to create continuity between the various spaces by creating a natural flow from one area to the next. In addition to the various linen treatments, we also provided tables, chairs, dinnerware, flatware, glassware, a 30′ x 50′ frame tent with two chandeliers, food service equipment, tabletop accessories, origami screens, staging with astroturf, bar service items, heaters and propane.
The guests went “ape” and “roared” with excitement for the wonderful evening that was planned just for them!
