Thousands came to cheer on their favorites at the 2011 Bob Hope Classic Golf Tournment at the PGA West Palmer Course, PGA West Nicklaus Course, La Quinta Country Club, and Silver Rock Resort.

Classic Palm Springs and Classic Tents provided 18,500 square feet of tenting, 21,000 feet of Astro Turf, and hundreds of tables and thousands of chairs for this four-day event. 

One of the challenges of the job is to carry the pipe beams, frames, canvas skins, walls, tables and chairs to the elevated skyboxes around and over the 18th green. Forklifts help, but the height and coordinating with outside vendors adds to the complexity of the install.

Rookie Jhonattan Vegas with a 24 under par for the four days and four courses won the tournament. And what a finish … on the last hole, Jhonattan was in a three-way tie and won on the second playoff hole.

Together as One is an amazing electronic music festival held on New Year’s Eve in downtown LA.

A joint production by promoters Go Ventures and Insomniac, Together as One attracts audiences of over 40,000 dance music enthusiasts each year.

Classic Tents provided the 140’ x 300’ and 100’ x 160’ Curved Beam Structures. A perfect setting for the music . . . and it’s all about the music.

DJ sets performed by Laidback Luke, Markus Schulz, Wolfgang Gartner, Major Lazer, Diplo & Switch, Jackbeats, DJ Reza Nero, Kill the Noise, 12th Planet and many more.

Classic Tents provided the tenting as eleven holes of mini-golf took over L.A. Live’s Nokia Plaza, part of a promotion for the Chevron World Challenge PGA tournament at Thousand Oaks.

A clubhouse beer garden was also set up on the plaza.

PGA great Fred Couples was swinging with the best of them. The course was opened up to the public before the Kings game with a “money hole,” where players played for a chance to win $1,000 for charity with a hole-in-one.

The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA), celebrated its 31-year history as one of the world’s leading contemporary art institutions with The Artist’s Museum Happening.

The event began at MOCA Grand Avenue with red carpet arrivals of Hollywood celebrities including Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, Kate Bosworth, Kirsten Dunst, Rachel Bilson, Ginnifer Goodwin, Chloë Sevigny, Will Ferrell, art-world luminaries, fashion icons, and renowned Los Angeles artists.

After the preview, guests proceeded to the gala tent envisioned by Doug Aitken, to the dramatic beat of 30 acoustic drummers lining the tent’s entrance. Guests settled into the comfort of the gala tent erected over Grand Avenue outside the museum where they were greeted by the first course of an organic garden meal directed by Joanna Moore of Venice-based restaurant Axe in collaboration with Along Came Mary.

Classic Tents provided the tenting, an 80′ x 260′ clear span structure, clear top cocktail tents and the raised flooring.

An additional challenge . . . guests departed at 11 p.m. Saturday night and Classic had to have everything removed by 7 p.m. Sunday night. Kudos to our great crews for making it happen.

The project . . . to create a “boutique” space where the client could sell their product at the World Equestrian Games in Lexington, KY. The look . . . very geometric and unique to stand out among the rest of the vendors. 

The space was created out of our standard 6m product and the entire structure was transformed into a 23’ x 23’ x 15’ cube by using printed fabric tensioned over an aluminum sub-frame. The look was stunning. 

The client was thrilled with the end product that definitely set them apart from the rest.

Classic Party Rentals South Bay intimate wedding ceremony and reception for 100 guests at a private beach club in Rancho Palos Verdes.

The bride and groom were both raised in Southern California and wanted a typical Southern California wedding . . . casual with a beach-y feel.

The ceremony took place right on the rocks, about 50 feet from the Pacific Ocean. The cocktail hour was filled with steel drum music, and the tent had a romantic feel with a sophisticated beach theme throughout.

Chameleon Chairs for reception provided by Classic.Tenting by Classic Tents. Classic Orange County provided ceremony chairs, tables, chairs, dancefloor, china, glassware, flatware. Classic El Segundo provided specialty linens.

Classic Tents set up a custom 85′ x 180′ Mid Beam Structure for the red carpet in addition to a 140’ x 90’ media and crew tent. 

Additional frame tents were used to create a celebrity walkway to and from cars and limos to the structure and from the structure into the Nokia Theatre for the show. To exit the celebs came back under the structure to cue up for the VIP after-party in the LA Live Conga Room.

Local resident and minority owner of the Phoenix Suns hosted a dinner for 340 for the team and guests at his Rancho Mirage home the evening before the team played an outdoor preseason game in Indian Wells, CA.

Classic provided the tables, chairs, cooking equipment, power, and lighting for the event.

Classic Tents at the same time was busy setting up rentals at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden for the game between the Suns and the Dallas Mavericks. Having a pro basketball game outdoors is a unique experience for the players at this level.

The Suns also spent time during the week working with local high school basketball teams with the school’s selling tickets as a fundraiser for their basketball programs.

Turner Sports and Turner Broadcasting aired the distinctive game on TNT. Final score . . . Suns 98 – Mavericks 90.

Tenting request? A big white and blessedly air conditioned tent in the Village’s parking lot.

Classic Palm Springs worked with Classic Tents to erect the 60′ x 80′ tent in the new concrete parking lot with concrete weights anchoring the structure. Classic Palm Springs also provided air conditioning and a generator to run the lighting and sound provided by Special Event Services (SES) of Florida. SES also did the interior finish, installing the runway and setting up guest chairs.

Cadillac V Lab Tour

Classic Tents created the perfect setting for Cadillac’s five-city tour with a 15M x 15M structure in all black fabric, grey keder and black concrete block covers, with doors, HVAC, power package and executive restoom. 

Classic also provided tables, linens and chairs by Chameleon Chairs.
