Wedding Weekend Getaway

Gracious hosts Julie and Jared created a weekend getaway to celebrate their union with family and friends on the bride’s parent’s property in the Santa Lucia Preserve. Guests gathered for yoga, golf, and horseback riding along with a lady’s luncheon and a Friday night rehearsal dinner for all.

Juxtaposed against the exterior rustic barn set in the rolling hills and redwoods, the wedding reception was a black-tie dinner with an elegant and ethereal interior décor. Classic assisted event designer Natasha Lisitsa of Waterlily Pond and Mary Podgurski of Pod & Seed to make the hosts’ vision a reality, transforming the barn into a completely unexpected interior design…white, sparkling, and stylish.

An airy, delicate, and chic experience was created within the pastoral landscape of the preserve. Classic Party Rentals draped the entire ceiling of the barn with white fabric, continuing with white silk fabric trailing down the height of the columns. A stage was erected at the front of the barn, with gold silk drapes surrounding the background and the sides framing the structure to create the feel of a supper club.

Custom-made white fabric drum chandeliers enclosed dangling crystals and dominated the central part of the space. Additional chandeliers comprised of white branches and hundreds of candles were suspended over the entire length of two 40-foot-long kings tables in the side pockets of the room. Centerpieces brimming with pearls and white orchids, along with silver chargers and chairs, enhanced the romantic mood of the event. Reflected in the multitude of mirrors along the interior, the chandeliers and centerpieces danced in the ambient lighting further enhancing the ethereal affair.
